Since we get sometimes questions asking us about vpn protocols we can tell you the following:
We see several providers provide also vpn services but many of them are offering the PPTP vpn service which is a microsoft protocol. It has very serious security flaws. It is recommended to search more about the history of the PPTP protocol so you know why it is considered a security risk. For a more indepth analysis by one of the best crypto experts ,Bruce Schneier, you can download his document here.
Other protocols like IPSEC are more solid but they cause alot of trouble for the average user who sits behind a router/restrictive environment. It has difficulties handling the NAT protocol.
Our solution is based on the next generation VPN protocol which is much more more solid and secure but also allows you to operate in the most hostile environments around. Another plus is that the VPN software, openvpn, is opensource and you can view it yourself unlike the others which are closed.
We're not located in the u.s and almost all of our services allow you to choose multiple offshore regions for your needs.
Last but not least, as we grow we will stay as we are, lightspeed support and services for all of you.
