Browzar is the IE browser that can be run from any USB stick. But wait, it gets better. It hides traces of what it has done on the Internet, so that cache history, auto-complete and searches cannot be viewed after the fact.

In fact, it’s an Internet Explorer shell program (a sort of add-on) and is not a browser at all, but that’s getting technical.

Launched last week, it has however run into some problems regarding its search bias, security design and commercial outlook, which can be read about in more detail here.

Since anyone using it can carry it around on a USB stick or simply download it and delete it after use (it is only 264K in size), it is a development worth watching from the endpoint security perspective. A hidden browser that can do its job silently and invisibly by hitching a ride on IE needs careful assessment.
