One of the new features of Windows XP is the error reporting feature that offers to send diagnostic information to Microsoft whenever an application or part of the system crashes. There are a number of reasons why you may want to reduce or turn this feature off, particularly if your computer is not connected to the Internet. You can adjust this feature easily by following these steps:
Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties. In the System Properties box that appears, click the Advanced tab. Near the bottom right corner of that tab, click the Error Reporting button. This will bring up a window where you can choose to disable the reporting completely, or you can limit it to just the operating system errors or, just errors from certain programs of your choosing. Once you are done making your selections, click OK a couple times to put them into effect |
