How many of you use regedit/regedt32 almost every day? Do you often need to connect to a remote machines registry in order to set permissions or verify GPO settings? Would you like to compare registry values, defrag registries, or open RIS Registry files that are saved to your RIS server? If you are not happy with the level of granularity offered by regedit//regedt32, let me suggest Resplendent Registrar (http://www.resplendence.com).

After first opening up Resplendent Registrar, you will be reminded of older versions of Windows. Do not let the look fool you. Once you explore the product, I believe you will be hooked. Resplendent Registrar allows 21 days for product evaluation after download.

For a side by side comparison, I’ll let you first open regedit/regedt32. Now go to HKLM\Security and take a look through the individual keys. What do you see? Now have a look below at Resplendent Registrar’s view of those same keys.

Now talk about powerful. Look at the example below, and tell me if this is something you can view in regedit/regedt32…

I think this tool really shines in its ability to quickly take ownership and change permissions on remote systems. With Resplendent Registrar I can not only take ownership of the SITES key and add permissions, but I can also view HKCR (this is a feature offered by neither regedit nor regedt32).
