This is in my opinion the easiest way to choose things during the boot of my Amiga. Getqual generates at run time some local variables, reflecting which keys that have been pressed down. This includes all 3 mouse buttons, the ctrl-, shift-, alt, and amiga-keys + more. The variables can then be used as in the example below:
--->-->-->Startup-sequence Snap Start-->-->-->
C:GetQual
IF $rbutton EQ 1
IF $midbutton EQ 1
execute s:Shapeshifter.script ;Right+Middle button starts Shapeshifter
QUIT
ENDIF
ENDIF
IF $rbutton EQ 1 ;Right button will break the boot!
QUIT ;i.e. no more "boot with no startup-sequence"
ENDIF
IF $LSHIFT EQ 1 ;Left Shift executes a special rekick script.
execute dh0:tools/rekick/startup
ENDIF
--->-->-->Startup-sequence Snap Stop--->-->-->
