You don't have to settle for the default sounds that come with Windows. You can change the sounds that are associated with various events such as starting Windows, receiving mail, logging off, etc. Simply open the Control Panel, then open Sounds, "Speech and Audio Devices," then "Sound and Audio Devices." In the Properties window that appears, click the Sounds tab. #gB3 {float:none;clear:none;}
From there, you can highlight an event, and then choose a sound to be associated with it by clicking the Browse button to find a sound file. You can also choose the drop-down box under Sound Schemes, and choose No Sounds to keep your computer from making those noises altogether. |
