a blog on security pipeline , Its mostly about the newest way of comfirming a persons info with a contactless microchip and a card reader , Kinda like a smart card .E-passports are the newest way of checking someones identiy DEPT of Homeland security is looking into using these E-passports to check Identites of travelers into the country but they made a few mistakes Big ones . They didnt encrypt the chips and all personal infomation would be stored on the contactless chip
Meaning it could be accessed remotely , also the readers designed to read these chips failed to work or read the info wrong or couldnt display what it did read .A Homeland Security spokeswoman was actually quoted as saying

that while the remote readers did look like a problem, it would be "unrealistic, under most circumstances, that people would have this equipment nearby and be able to use it in a covert manner."

what rock does this person live under? I think someone had better educate these folks. you can read the blog and related aritcles @ Privacy Needs A Lot More Attention




End Note: IMHO If the Spokes man for homeland security is an example of the rest of homeland security knowlegde base about hackers , they have a lot to learn ....
