Is there Really a Law in the US that states you must have a picture id to board an airline ? Thats the question that is being asked of the DoJ by Electronic Frontier Foundation cofounder John Gilmore. Mr. Gilmore says (thinks)that ID requirement is unconstitutional , and he has voiced his concern in court . The law if it does or doesnt exist is classified by the DoJ and cant be revealed in open court .
Mr Gilmore and his attorney had the action settled sorta in a lower district court saying that all parties would assume that they were right ( no real decision ) just a dismisal of the case, Gilmore and his lawer asked for a higher court to rule on the matter but even if the ruling is handed down we will never know the true results All court records and fileings will be sealed as classified material , or blacked out so as to make it unreadable . you can read the whole story @ hypothetical defence in airline ID case
End Note : is it just me or is the Classified rating getting abused a little too much what would it hurt if the law did infact exist or maybe it doesnt and this is a control issue. kinda makes you scratch your head and wonder . piddly little law classifed ??? |
